The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cyclone warning following increased turbulence in the Bay of Bengal. The weather agency has predicted that the storm could bring heavy rainfall across 13 states, with the northeastern region expected to experience the most significant impact.
According to IMD, thunderstorms and intense rainfall are likely in several northeastern states on February 19. Assam and Meghalaya are expected to receive heavy downpours, while moderate rainfall is forecast for Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim over the next week.
The impact of the cyclone is not limited to the northeast. IMD has projected that Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will witness heavy snowfall on February 19 and 20. Additionally, Rajasthan could experience significant rainfall between February 17 and 19. Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh are likely to see heavy showers on February 19 and 20.
Meanwhile, rising temperatures have been observed in Telangana. Daytime heat levels have been climbing consistently over the past few days. By mid-morning, the sun’s intensity has already become noticeable across the state, and low humidity levels are exacerbating the conditions.
